Volunteer With Us!

Make a difference in Southern California.  To become a CDF Southern California Chapter volunteer you must be a registered user.  If you are not registered, you will be asked to create an account.  This will only take a few moments and then you can sign up for volunteer positions that interest you. You will then be contacted by our Volunteer Coordinator to confirm your assignment and give you all the information you need!

Advocacy Leader Identify state and local government initiatives that advocate for the needs of those with gluten-related disorders. Lead the Chapter in participating in at least one initiative per year, whether it be a letter-writing campaign or a meeting with a district Congress person. (approx 20 hrs/year) 9/1/2014 7/1/2015
Children's Network Leader Coordinate the Chapter's program for kids with gluten-related disorders (ages 1-17), including: serve as point-of-contact for all new inquiries about the program, organize quarterly events, unite local kid's support groups, and maintain the online forum. (approx 5 hrs/week) 8/1/2014 7/31/2015
Support Group Leader CDF Support Group Facilitators have a strong desire to help people with celiac disease and other gluten-related disorders and their families. In addition, Facilitators have a basic understanding of celiac disease and other gluten-related disorders and how they can affect the body and mind.

Facilitators make a minimum one-year commitment and complete CDF-sponsored training.
Volunteer Coordinator Recruit and place volunteers for various Chapter and local support group events by communicating with interested constituents (both via email and phone). Receive training and utilize Raiser's Edge software. (approx 8 hrs/month) 8/1/2014 7/31/2015
Webmaster Maintain the webpages of the CDF SoCal Chapter website. Requires familiarity with WordPress and twice-weekly availability. (approx 2 hrs/week) 8/1/2014 7/31/2015
